Frank King Becomes Industry Pioneer
Frank King (father of Centaurus CEO Ron King) becomes a pioneer in the financial services industry by helping develop the independent broker/dealer model after retiring as an aviator in the United States Marine Corps.
1977
Titan Capital Corporation is Founded
Frank King founds Titan Capital Corporation, which became one of the largest independent broker/dealers in the country with over 1,300 registered representatives.
1992
Centaurus Financial, Inc. is Founded
Centaurus is founded as an education and training company to help support other large broker/dealers, financial planning firms and insurance companies.
1995
Centaurus Expands as an Independent Broker/Dealer
Centaurus is purchased by Ron King and Bob Keilly who convert the firm to a full service independent broker/dealer while expanding the firm’s services as a premier educational platform for registered representatives.

Our Name
We are often asked how the name “Centaurus” was derived. Centaurus is a constellation that is visible in the southern hemisphere and contains the bright star Alpha Centauri. Drawing on his military background as a United States Marine Corps navigator in the South Pacific, Frank King treasured the sight of the constellation “Centaurus”, which allowed him to set his sextant to the glow of Alpha Centauri. For a navigator in the South Pacific, finding the constellation Centaurus meant that he could find his way home. As we carry that analogy through to the firm being named Centaurus, the founders hoped that Centaurus would allow its investors and advisers to find their way financially as well.
